VR training simulator

Stack high.
Drop nothing.

A VR (virtual reality) simulator that trains people to use a pallet stacker: the walk-behind truck that lifts pallets up into racks. Trainees practise lifting, placing and bringing down loads at height until it feels natural. It links to your warehouse software, so they practise the same jobs your floor gives out every day.

The challenge

Why it’s hard today

The problems we hear most often from clients.

01

Loads go up high

A stacker lifts heavy pallets above head height. A small mistake up there can bring the whole load down.

02

Less load at height

A stacker can carry less the higher it lifts. New operators often do not know the limit for each rack level.

03

People walk beside it

The operator walks with the truck, close to the load, in aisles shared with other people.

04

Training stops real work

Every training hour takes a working stacker off the floor and puts a beginner under a raised load.

Benefits

Why train on a simulator

The Stacker Simulator copies real working conditions in VR, so drivers build skill safely before they work on your floor.

01

Mistakes cost nothing

A dropped pallet in VR is a lesson. On the floor it is damaged stock, or worse.

02

Stackers stay at work

Practice happens in VR, so no truck leaves the floor and no battery charge is used.

03

Height without the risk

Trainees place loads on the top beam again and again, with nobody standing underneath.

04

Your own racks

Lessons use your real rack heights, load limits and jobs from your warehouse software.

Try it

Stack to height

A stacker can carry less the higher it lifts. Pick a rack level and a pallet weight, and see what the truck is allowed to do.

The lift goes ahead. The trainee is scored on how square, how smooth and how safe it was.

  • Stop, then lift. Never lift while moving
  • Lift just clear of the beam
  • Set the pallet down square

Example numbers for a 1.2 tonne stacker. We set the real ones from your truck’s rating plate.

Curriculum

From floor level to the top beam

Each lesson builds on the last, with instant feedback and a score. We can set every lesson in your own racks and aisles, with your own rules.

Module 01Foundation

Controls and safety checks

Learn every control and do the daily checks before use.

Module 02Foundation

Battery and charging

Check the charge and plug in safely.

Module 03Foundation

Tiller steering

Steer, stop and turn using the tiller handle.

Module 04Foundation

Lifting and lowering

Raise and lower the forks smoothly, with and without a load.

Module 05Core

Picking up a pallet

Line up the forks, go in straight and lift cleanly.

Module 06Core

Placing a pallet in a rack

Lift to the right level, move in square and set the load down.

Module 07Core

Bringing a pallet down

Lift clear of the beam, back out straight, then lower.

Module 08Core

Load limits at height

Read the rating plate and know what you can lift to each level.

Module 09Advanced

Top-beam stacking

Place and retrieve loads on the highest rack level.

Module 10Advanced

Uneven and unstable loads

Spot a bad pallet and deal with it before you lift.

Module 11Advanced

People in the aisle

Keep people clear when a load is in the air.

Module 12Advanced

Real jobs from your WMS

Complete real put-away and retrieval jobs, with a score.

Assessment

What every session records

Every session is recorded, so you can see exactly how ready each driver is.

  • Session scorePass or fail for each session, based on your own safety rules.
  • Placement accuracyHow square and how deep each pallet was set on the beam.
  • Rack and beam hitsEvery time the load or mast touched the rack, and where.
  • Load limit checksLifts that went over the limit for that height.
  • Travel with raised forksAny distance driven with the load up instead of low.
  • Near-misses with peopleHow close people came while a load was in the air.

Delivery

How we deliver it

01

Study your racks

We measure your racks, beam heights and aisles, and note the stackers you use.

02

Build the scenarios

We rebuild your layout and rules as stacker lessons, from floor level to the top beam.

03

Connect your WMS

We link the simulator to a test copy of your warehouse software.

04

Pilot group

A first group of trainees uses it, and we tune the scoring to your standards.

05

Roll out

We set it up at more sites, train your trainers and keep the content up to date.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Both are walk-behind electric trucks steered with a tiller. A BOPT only lifts a pallet a little, to move it along the floor. A stacker has a mast, so it can lift the pallet up into a rack.

A VR headset and our tiller controller, plus a PC or laptop for the trainer. We suggest how many stations you need based on how many people you train and your space. You are not tied to one headset brand.

Yes. We set the lift heights, load limits and rack levels to match your trucks and your site, so trainees practise in a copy of your real warehouse.
